The first event of the PGA Tour's 2025 schedule is in the books. Hideki Matsuyama captured The Sentry in record-setting fashion, shooting 35 under for the week and setting a new record for score in relation to par and most birdies or better (35) in a single PGA Tour event.

Sungjae Im, unbeliebably, shot 29 under par for the week and ended third place. He earned $1.36 million. Those who qualified but opted not to play were Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler, the tour’s player of the year for 2024.
