Actor Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa, and their dog were found dead in their Santa Fe home, in a scene that one detective had deemed “suspicious enough in nature to require a thorough search and investigation.

Thyroid medication, Tylenol and medication used to treat high blood pressure were found inside Hackman and Arakawa's New Mexico home.

Authorities said there were no obvious signs of foul play but the circumstances of their deaths warranted further investigation.
