Aug 3, 2019 · Well, any recipe can be a 1 gallon recipe, so you can use any recipe you would like. Just divide a 5 gallon batch in half for a 2.5 gallon recipe, or in fourths for a 1.25 gallon recipe. It really is that easy.

Feb 1, 2017 · The best advice I can give is to find a 5, or 6, or 10 gallon recipe that looks good and divide all the ingredient amounts by 5 (or 6, or 10, depending on the recipe size). I brew 3 gallon recipes primarily -- and probably for many of the same reasons you're looking for a 1g recipe -- and usually need to scale my recipes.

Jan 6, 2007 · A gallon would definitely not be enough to sparge a 2.5 gallon batch. I do plenty of 1 gallon batches. They tend to be test batches of new recipes or cider/graff. I get 10-12 bottles out of it. It definitely lets you brew more often and cheaply develop a diverse pipeline but on the other hand it's a lot of work for a small amount of beer.

Oct 21, 2024 · I have to agree that 1 Gallon batches are amazing. One thing I have been doing with my 1 Gal batches is trying recipes that I may wnat to scale up. At least i save myself a ton of money by brewing in small batches. When I have a batch that fails at 1 Gal at least I didn't destroy a ton of grain. And I still get to brew no matter what.
