Jerome and Jeremiah Valeska are characters and antagonists in the Fox crime drama television series Gotham and associated media. They are identical twin brothers portrayed by Cameron Monaghan. Each twin adapts different characteristics of the DC Comics supervillain the Joker.

Jerome Valeska is a tribute and precursor to The Joker, with his backstory drawing heavily from Joker mythology. The Joker was created by writer Bill Finger and artists Jerry Robinson and Bob Kane, first appearing in Batman #1 (April 1940).

Even though Jeremiah is the series' exploration of the Joker's origins, he was never referred to as "The Joker" as Cameron Monaghan confirmed on his Twitter account due to Warner Bros. wanting to use the name "Joker" for future projects.
