The Diagonal Band of Broca, also known as Area Diagonalis, refers to a region in the basal forebrain that contains a mixture of neurons and various fiber systems, including magnocellular hyperchromic neurons that are choline acetyltransferase positive.

The diagonal band is aband of myelinated fibers that usually forms the posterior boundary of the anterior perforated substance. It extends from the amygdaloid body to the paraterminal gyrus.
