Good quantum physics textbooks [duplicate] - Physics Stack …
But in quantum physics, usually even for simple problems I can get stuck or don't know where to start. I want to rebuild my knowledge from a new source. The literature I've used so far is: Introduction to Quantum Mechanics by David J.Griffiths, Quantum physics by Leonard Schiff, Modern Quantum Mechanics (Revised Edition) by J.J.Sakurai.
List of freely available physics books - Physics Stack Exchange
I'm trying to amass a list of physics books with open-source licenses, like Creative Commons, GPL, etc. The books can be about a particular field in physics or about physics in general. What are some freely available great physics books on the Internet? edit: I'm aware that there are tons of freely available lecture notes online. Still, it'd be ...
Recommendations for good Newtonian mechanics and kinematics …
It teaches you scientific reasoning (unlike other textbooks, mostly solely on problem solving). Focus on the (real stuffs) physics, instead of math (the math part is easy once you learned the math independently anyway). Very entertaining and enlightening problem sets (another book with totally different style, but good problem set is David Morin).
Textbook recommendation for computational physics
Jan 25, 2015 · The examples are all taken from nuclear and particle physics, so there neutron transport models and toy tomography problems and multi-electron atoms to solve and so on. Good stuff. It is at once a small book, and provides deep coverage of the problems that it spends time on. The sections on Monte Carlo methods are very good.

Book suggestion for introductory plasma physics
Fundamentals of plasma physics by P.M. Bellan (2006) Principles of Plasma Discharges and Materials Processing (Second Edition, 2005) by Lieberman, Lichtenberg; Plasma physics: An introduction to laboratory, space, and fusion plasmas (2010) by A. Piel; These books can be used in graduate and postgraduate levels.
Books for particle physics and the Standard Model
A very complete book on particle physics from the point of view of astrophysics and cosmology. Well written and very pedagogic. Perkins. Particle Astrophysics. 2009. Very similar to Grupen in scope and presentation. Give a look at the table of contents of both textbooks, and pick the one with the ordering that is more appealing to you.
Books for general relativity - Physics Stack Exchange
What sets this book apart is its emphasis on the physics of relativity as well as the mathematics. Concepts that in a lot of other introductory textbooks are taken for granted are here carefully motivated (a good example is Rindler's discussion on why exactly we should model spacetime as a 4-dimensional pseudo-Riemannian manifold with ...

"Advanced Solid State Physics", Philip Phillips. "For an up-to-date perspective on solid state physics from a many-body physics perspective, may I refer you to this book" by P. Coleman in Introduction to Many-Body Physics. "Many-Particle Physics", G. D. Mahan. A good introduction, it covers lots of topics although notation is a bit old-fashioned.
