No 1 .243 twist rate? - Ruger Forum
Sep 6, 2013 · I am not sure what the twist is on a Ruger number one. However, the Winchester rifles used a 1 in 10 twist on the 243, and Remington used a 1 in 9 twist for their 6mm Remington. I believe most all of the gun makers decided to go with the 1 in 10 twist because it would handle the heavier 6mm bullets better than the 1 in 9 twist.

Determining Twist Rate for #1 - Ruger Forum
Nov 10, 2022 · Bullet manufactures generally mention this for bullets with super thin skin (think tnt's). I've read lots of folks shooting 1:8-1:10 .223 with 40gr and tight groups. If you want to shoot those thin skinned bullets, that's where twist matters. You could simply call Ruger support and ask which years and models of No. 1 in .223 have what twist.
Rebarrel on a No. 1 - Ruger Forum
Oct 1, 2019 · i would think if you choose to change rim sizes, like going from a 375 H&H to a 358 Win (or 35 Whelen) all you'd need to do is to pick up a 30-06/270/308/243 ejector from GunPartsCorp (or Ruger if they'll sell you one) and have that installed at the same time as the rebarrel. piece of cake.

Apr 15, 2012 · A friend that bought his first Ruger #1 lately, a new #1-V in 223, asked me whether or not the RSI model was ever chambered in 45/70 or in 222 or 223 Remington. Well, I'm so new to the Ruger 1 scene I didn't have an answer. The new models come in 270, 30-06 and 7x57. I've also seen 243 Win versions on Gunbroker.

Relative Values For No. 1 - Ruger Forum
Feb 5, 2024 · My interest in the Ruger No. 1 is driven by the elegance of the design and its unique nature. They are beautiful rifles to my eye. If all I cared about was an accurate rifle with a great trigger, I might just buy Tikka T3s (a fine rifle). There’s an RSI International No. 1 chambered in .270 Winchester listed at $2,800 on GunsInternational.
