Aug 10, 2022 · I assume you are using default menu applet - Brisk menu. According to its source code (line 140), the icon name indeed is start-here-symbolic. The applet displays PNGs as well, but the quality of PNG rendering is poor. For example, I tested the [Yaru-MATE-light/22x22/places/start-here.png] icon.

This small program takes ubuntu-mate-artwork (theme & icons) and swaps out the green to a color of your choice. If you are using Ubuntu MATE 18.04 LTS, 19.10, or 20.04 LTS then changing your system's colors just got a lot easier.

The MATE main menu will look for the icon name of currently used theme and that makes difficult to use a single custom icon.
