Sep 9, 2024 · The Wasteland is large city-state and a mercantile nation ruled by Directorate of Burgomeisters. Its capital Marienburg is probably the largest city of the Old World. Located between The Empire and Bretonnia, it is de facto a buffer-state between the two.

The Wasteland extends from the Laurelorn Forest in the east to the Pale Sisters and the Bretonnian march at the west, and from the verges of the Mirror Moors on the Imperial frontier to the shores of the Sea of Claws.

The Wasteland is a province introduced in Total War: Warhammer. It begins the campaign controlled by the Marienburg minor faction. The Wasteland is a low-lying region situated around the mouth of the River Reik, to the north-west of The Empire.

The Wasteland lies around the bay where the Reik flows into the sea, stretching as far as the edge of the Reikwald Forest in the south and east and to the foothills of The Pale Sisters in the west. A few sheltered spots offer refuge for scattered farms and villages, but most of the Wasteland's population live in the city port of Marienburg.
