This would allow me to take the 20W charger for on-the-go. Main reason is to keep the Macbook charged at 80%, the charger is working.

Jun 1, 2022 · Sure. An Anker charger etc should work fine. You can use a 70w charger and your Air will only use 30w. You can also use the little 20w iPad Pro charger, it will just charge a bit slower. A 20w does keep mine at 100% while using, and they are only $19 at Apple.

Mar 7, 2009 · You should get a charger, which is about 20-30W more powerful than what laptop demands. For Macbook Pro get a 90-100W charger and a hub, which supports 100W charging. For Macbook Air get a 60W charger and pretty much any hub should work. This is, if you need optimal charging even when laptop is working under load.
