Best Modern M-1 Carbine? - The Firearms Forum
Jun 10, 2023 · I've been thinking about getting an M1 Carbine replica. I have read discussions of the pros and cons of M1 carbines made by Auto Ordnance, Inland, and Fulton Armory. Seems like the Fulton Armory carbines are the preferred model in a repro gun, but they are quite expensive and usually take a while to get as I think they are built to order.

Jan 11, 2016 · American Rifleman magazine did three excellent articles on slam fires . THE MYSTERIOUS SLAM FIRE October 1983 pages 42,43,73,74,76,77,78,79 and 80. MORE ON SLAM-FIRES Jan. 1984 page 62. M1 SLAM-FIRES Nov. 1991 pages 59 and 60. All three dealt with slam fires in M1 Garands and M1/As.

Dec 15, 2019 · Many of the M1 Garands imported from Korea had barrels with T&E of 2 or 3 but muzzles that were "wiped out". I was informed it was from using the rifles in grenade launching practice. To make the last batch of M1 Garands more saleable Arlington Ordnance started the rebuild and rebarreling program. They also started assembling "Tanker" M1 Garands.

M1 carbines were banned in New Jersey about 25+yrs ago. Since then have any other states banned them? Funny thing is Plainfield Machine M1 Carbines where built in Middlesex NJ. During the Plainfield riots in 1967 the Plainfield Machine factory was broken into. Forty Six M1 Carbines were stolen and only about a half dozen were recovered.

Dec 6, 2024 · IMHO, get what appeals to you. As far as having any reliability issues the armorers at the CMP will make things right. While there is certainly appeal to having an ‘authentic’ rifle, finding a truly ‘original’ M1, or finding the parts to restore one can be very expensive and would tend to deter the owner from shooting it.
